We've swapped 8gb SDTNMMCHSM-008G NAND chips from a 20-82-00162-3 controlled pcb to another "-3" board and had it work. Tested by writing 100mb photos/movies to the chip before swapping, and it was readible on the other board. We were using 2 new, working drives.
Anyone know if the 20-82-00162-1 micros for sure use a different encryption? We have a client drive with this dead micro
I can't find a working 20-82-00162-1 board, and I don't know if it's safe to try to solder the NAND chip from a "-1" board to a "-3" board.
Any chance doing this would damage the data (if the encryption alog is different?), or is it likely just not to work?....or potentially compatible?
Forgive these if they're beginner questions, but it looks like this is the only way to recover these encrypted chips.
