did you guys notice how often BGA132 on Lexar specifically reads no ID? I think 4 out of 5 last cases I had with BGA132 read 00 for ID on all readers.

interesting, in my folder of chips I also have a couple marked "Won't ID"
Did you ever trace the controller pinout back to the NAND to see if pinout of BGA is different? I would not think that many NANDs would be bad, I hardly ever see bad NANDs

Same here, tried reading from a donor PCB w/ BGA132 w/ NR and the ID showed as 00 00 00 00..
MP Tool says the ID is:
2C A4 64 32 AA 04

I will upload a photo in a little bit. I just got another 34GB Lexar pro with 2x BGA132 same story. 00 00 00 00 won't read ID. The problem is not with the alignment of the NAND in BGA152 socket. I have BGA132 socket too, it just won't ID under any bus 8 16 nor 8-16

I just went and bought 20 various cards for research. I will report back.
I requested datasheet, but looks like it should be standard pinout.
Micron are also doing strange capacities like 48GB, 96GB, 144GB, 192GB, 384GB, 768GB.
Code: |
Part Number : MT29F256G08CBCBBJ4-37:B
FBGA Code : NW817
Density : 256Gb
NAND Type : 3D
Width : x8
Voltage : 3.3V
Package : VBGA
Pin Count : 132-ball
MT/s : 533 MT/s
I/O : Common |

MT29F 256G08 CBCBBES
ID 2c a4 64 32
According to datasheet it have two powers
VCC = 3.3v
VCCQ = 1.8v
Our adapter can apply only one power VCC = VCCQ
pinout is same
---
There is risk to burn this chips with 3.3V power
If other readers have way to change power, can try read it at 2.3V (Max VCCQ is 2.4V)
May be it will work

Is there any way to modify our reader?

Reader can work on 2.5 - 2.6v, not less
Need make level translation scheme
It is not easy
I need think
Also, i need confirmation that this chip give ID on 2.3v

I will test with my other reader on Monday for 2.3v and report back
