Test 1 - FE compile time
1 thread, many small files used
i5-680   HT on  - 96 sec 
i5-680 HT off - 91 sec
i7-4790K HT On - 61 sec
i7-4790K HT Off - 60 sec


Test 2 - ECC correction
Used same 16 GB dump
Red with ECC = Check, and green with ECC = ON
Threads number set in FE props before test
i5-680   HT on   Threads 4 -  51 min
i5-680 HT on Threads 3 - 57 min
i5-680 HT on Threads 2 - 71 min
i5-680 HT on Threads 1 - 105 min
 
i5-680 HT off Threads 2 - 62 min
i5-680 HT off Threads 1 - 102 min
 
i7-4790K HT On Threads 8 - 21 min (20:51)
i7-4790K HT On Threads 7 - 21 min (21:26)

Results
Test 1: new processor is faster on 1.5 times
Test 2: on 1.78 with single core, and 1.82 with two cores

That is strange because 4.4 GHz / 3.86 GHz = 1,14

May be memory changed from DDR3-1333 to DDR3-1666 with same latance 9 in clock cycles.
9/1333 = 0,00675
9/1666 = 0,00540
0,00675 / 0,00540 = 1,25

We sum 1.14 from freq and 1.25 from memory = 1.14 * 1.25 = 1,425
For Test_1 result is near

What i miss?
Why results for Test_2 is 1.8 faster?

If you can use the GPU just fine.
