Feature Request: Way to check how many ECC errors exist in a File or Recovery using v6 core.

Feature Existed in V5 core, but is broken in V6

This may sound like a strange request, but some form of reverse engineering facility should be built in (if it is not too complicated)

For example,if I have a working USB key and obtain a bit by bit image of the contents of the key (without removing the nand chip).

I then remove the nand chip and read it in the nand reader and the program compares the two and figures out the algorithm. We can then upload the solution to the forum.

Don't know if it can be done.

Nand reader - add information about chips, which need power mode. If reader discover chips with power mods, show information in program.

I spend alot of time repairing JPGs that have errors left in them when ECC correction has not completly worked, usually because of a faulty NAND chip.

It would be very useful to have a map or list of the left over ECC errors showing the bit & byte that still has an error.

I have found the sometimes inverting the offending bit can repair the JPG.

Sergey can correct me if I'm wrong but I think ECC can only detect errors (ie: data is corrupt) after (x) bit errors.

Another trick is to reread the NAND, sometimes you'll get a read for that sector just under the threshold for error bits.

In V6 the invert function has disappeard.
This is usefull however when a new controller appears.
V5 is not usefull for that since it is not supporting Xor like V6.

Maybe we can have a 'blank' layout we can apply to try functions like Invert, and Auto find mix like Join by byte.

Usually I go to V5 to check how chip looks. Would be useful to be able to try this in V6.
