Important for Hynix RR codes

http://flash-extractor.com/manual/read_retry/

Please, update your FE and NR to last versions
Because, old versions Hynix RR can give green ECC map with wrong data

From manual

Disconnect / Connect Reader
FE will ask to do it

How important is it to Disconnect / Connect the reader? I wondering because when working remotely, it is not possible to do this. Should it be completely avoided?

theoretically you could get around it by using Device Manager to either uninstall the USB Root Hub, then re-installing it

or disabling the re-enabling the USB mass storage device.

But not ideal for sure.

I don't know the reason for the requirement to disconnect / connect it. Some registers in the reader maybe needs to be reset with a full pwr off/on ?

If that is the case, we could use a hardware switch that could be remotely controlled.

Memory chip do not restore RR registers values to default state after software reset

Only after power off / on

You can use Power adapter v3. It turn power off after each read
But Find Base and Tune will work much slower. Because it send additional information about voltage

I do not have the power adapter v3 yet. Will it be enough if i make an electronic switch for Vcc on the TSOP-48 adapter board and control power off/on for the chip this way?

This is bad idea

1. Can burn chip
2. Chip will take power from data lines

Can try make switch at USB cable

Is this so even when reader is idle, not reading?

Anyhow, I will make something at the USB-cable instead.

maybe an Arduino could do it, put all 4 lines each into a switch, and use the arduino to control it

Thanks. It could be done that way, or with some other simple mcu. Let's see what the solution is going to be ..

I will also order the power adapter when it becomes available again.

Can something like this also work like the voltage regulator?
