Hi would anyone have the pinout for the BGA224 chip layout as in attachment. Would really appreciate any help with this.

interesting that it has the logo on there for SD Card. Maybe this is some kind of SD in a chip, or eMMC

do you have good pictures of both sides of the device it came from? you may need to trace with multimeter from the controller to the memory chip pads. if you can get a pinout from a controller from somewhere like flashboot.ru or something, you can work backwards. willing to bet that the pads for nand are not any of the ones shown in the pdf

Yeh tried that, the controller is a Fujitsu ten and same issues with locating the pinouts for that ic. It is impossible to find.

oh, bummer. Id be interested in pics of it. I have over 800 flash donor/research drives but not a single Fujitsu!
If I think of anything I will post.
Sometimes these rare controllers are rebadged phison or SM and you find an obscure reference to it on the net. Also, have you tried doing the SD Card recovery using the pinout in the manual and the SD card .dll thing? http://www.flash-extractor.com/manual/adapter_xd_sd/
if you have a wire adapter you can do it without the SD Card adapter. Ive tried it years ago, and it did work on an SD.

Thanks, I was actually going to try that next. The chip has surprisingly few pad connections. Probably only 8-10 pads go anywhere so that was my next point of attack.

is the device a USB flash drive? maybe it really does use the SD interface only..

Ok I will remember for next time to post in chat, no it’s not from a usb stick, it’s from a Toyota car stereo.

you should be able to hook it up to any sd card reader. first I would check each vcc to see which ones are internally connected to each other with a multimeter on continuity beep. you wont need to connect any that are connected to each other. same with GND.
it should open up on any pc just like any SD Card (with luck)

Thank you, I did see a Russian site with the same pinout configuration but he advised he didn’t have any luck connecting it up to get it to work so I assumed he most likely had the pinouts wrong. I will take a look and let you know if it all works.

And on another note HaQue,I just happened to open the first datasheet you linked to on a desktop computer and voila, the second page of the datasheet had the pinouts and all the information. When you open the page on a mobile devide it only shows the first. Thank you very much for that.

I am not having much luck with connecting the chip up, I have tried known good chips and as far as I can get is the SD card reader will light up and look like it's reading but nothing happens. One thing I noticed is some of the pins in your diagram are not hooked up, Vccq and other Vccq_* and NI018V are not connected like in the datasheet. Is there any reason these would not be connected to read the chip?
