|
|
Hi Sergey
I'd like to buy a new PC machine for Flash Extractor.
You know: new CPU, more RAM and so on.
And I have question about it.
Is Flash Extractor optimized in special way to use Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad CPU?
Or maybe more Mhz will be good?
What kind of PC is ok to increase performance of Flash Extractor?
Thanks

My PC at work
Intel Core 2 duo 2.13 GHz
4GB RAM
No raids, just 300GB disk for orders and 80 GB for system
(need big space because NTFS like fragment files)
My PC at home
Intel core 1 (freq don't remember)
3GB RAM, when was 512MB it was slow
I think
I'm not familiar with computer hardware!
I think RAM and Swap is most important parameters.
Core 2 give good improvement, although programs not optimized for it.
Bigger disk size is prefered.
Flash_Extractor is not so processor work needed.
Disk system and cache more needed.
Only JPEG_Scanner needs fastest machine!
Be carefull
I'm not familiar with PC perfomence
Its just my IMHO
I just say someone - "I need new PC" - and i have it soon :)
And i don't know what is inside ;))

I found that when I put in two 10,000rpm "Raptor" drives in RAID 0, my dump processing went much, much quicker!

Thanks pcimage for advice. I have to consider this RAID option.
